Hi! Welcome to Garfield-Land (tentatively named until I can think of something better). I'm Jacob, or Garfield sometimes, and I am a Technical Communication major looking to work in the field of Web Design. This is my website that I will be using to host my resume and my portfolio, alongside some personal projects. My name is Jacob. I'm currently a student at Iowa State University, studying Technical Communication with a focus on Web Design. I have interests in digital accessibility, creative and professional multimedia and non-multimedia writing, and love my four cats and two dogs. Currently I am working on my professional skills as a web designer (partially through this website!) and hope that I can improve enough to create accessible, high quality sites that any number of people can enjoy.
In my personal time, I like working on creative writing projects, reading, playing videogames, and playing tabletop RPGs, or playing with my cats. When I'm not playing, I'm working on College assignments, working as a receptionist, or expanding my portfolio with more creative or professional works. I have beginner-level skills in HTML and CSS, and novice-level skills when writing professional documents, both of which I am trying to improve both through my education and through my own personal efforts.
